The workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for women's engagement and empowerment with representatives from Central Asia including Afghanistan. The main purpose of the 1.5 day gathering is to engage and create a new network of women scientists, engineers, managers and policy makers from Central Asia and Afghanistan and bring them into the discussion of critical issues that they are faced with in this region. The aim of the workshop is to improve inter-governmental and cross-border collaboration among women scientists, engineers, managers, and policy makers to help empower women in critical decision making regarding access to water and enhancing job opportunities. The anticipated results of the workshop will be a call for action with targeted activities and associated outcomes for the engagement of women in the region and the creation of a new regional network of women.
